The contestants of Miss Progress International 2014 visit Alberobello and fall in love with the Old Town, a World Heritage Site. The local authorities homage them with a rose.

Alberobello – The whims of the climate of this strange spring Puglia have reserved a bad welcome to the Ambassadors of Progress. The careful organization, by the Associazione Culturale In Progress, however, gave further proof of efficiency giving the girls an emergency-poncho that has protected them from the rain and the biting cold wind blowing from north.

The walk through the narrow streets of the historic center of the city, which UNESCO has long been elected to World Heritage Site, has been complicated by the “need” on the part of the competitors to capture the visit with many photographs to be portrayed in many, beautiful spots. With no small effort the men of the security service have then literally pulled out from the shops many of them intent on collecting souvenirs.

At the end of the excursion, the mayor Longo, the councilors Ricci and Salamida and other representatives of the municipal administration welcomed the group at the City Hall, handing them a warm welcome, which marked the pride with which Alberobello is proposed to the tourists offering such a splendid example of history represented by the trullos.

Each of them was given a red rose, to seal the love with which the city welcomes its guests.
